Dear SmileFaith Partners, This past year, you gave from your hearts, both financially and through special acts of service. Your caring and involvement made it possible for SmileFaith Foundation to provide over 80 Smile Makeovers! Many of our recipients have had their lives transformed through SmileFaith services such as individual counseling, job training and placement, Veterans assistance and critical help for the homeless. Smilefaith Foundation provided over $500,000 worth of dental and counseling services. Together, we can help to absolutely transform the lives of many more individuals and families this coming year. SmileFaith has helped some of my customers to be able to get their smiles back. Every day, I end up talking to people affected by the hard economy, and I have been touched by their strength! SmileFaith has helped some of my customers who have young children suffering with dental pain. Their parents had to delay dental care for the children because of financial hardship. My name is Joseph, and I’d like to share about an awesome gift that I recently received. For years, I have walked around ashamed and embarrassed because of the condition of my teeth. I have had medical problems mainly due to the abscessed teeth. This was a huge burden. Thanks to SmileFaith, this burden no longer exists! When I was told about the SmileFaith Smile Again Program, I thought it was too good to be true. To my surprise, it was very much a reality. The Smile Again Program has truly changed my life! I always felt that people looked down on me as soon as I opened my mouth. Now, I feel that they no longer see that hideous smile. I can carry on a full conversation without thinking that the other person may look away in disgust! Tom Lane, President of SmileFaith Foundation, gave me an opportunity I never dreamed possible or thought I deserved. I owe so much to this amazing, nonprofit organization. My name is Rachel, and I am 27 years old. I want to say a heartfelt, "Thank you", to the SmileFaith Program for making my dream come true! Thanks to SmileFaith, I now have my self-confidence back, and I have a beautiful smile again. I feel that I have been given a brand new start to my life. Without SmileFaith, this dream would have never become a reality. When I was younger, I never wanted to brush my teeth. At night, I would get up and drink soda and eat snacks, and then go right back to bed without cleaning my teeth. As I got older, I continued to make bad choices in my life, and continued with many unhealthy practices that included very poor dental hygiene. My teeth were so bad that they started to break off in small pieces every day. They would always hurt, and I had to be careful of everything I ate to avoid more breaking. I never wanted to meet new people or talk to them because I was so embarrassed by my unattractive teeth and smile. It would take a miracle to get a smile from me! For years, I never smiled for family portraits no matter how much my family encouraged me. I always thought that I would never find anyone who would accept me for who I was, because I had allowed my bad teeth to make me feel so ugly and unlovable. Then I received a second chance in life that turned my whole world around! I started a job at Volunteer Way, and they introduced me to SmileFaith Foundation. This program helps people get back the smile they deserve. I filled out the paper work and started going to the dentist that SmileFaith provided. My first visit was amazing! I got a temporary smile and went home that day so happy and proud about myself and my new smile! I showed off my teeth as if they were a new car! Having my teeth fixed has meant so much to me. I can now smile at people and not be embarrassed to open my mouth or be afraid of having offensive breath due to bad teeth. I now have new self confidence and self esteem. I know that I can accomplish anything I want to do. I owe a great deal of thanks to SmileFaith Foundation for making my dream come true! I will be eternally grateful because they changed my life!
